How do you reach the goal of reducing the annual per-capita emission of CO₂ to 6 tons by 2030? For the administrative district of Munich, one important part of the solution is to publish the stats and data on current emissions in each county – to make the progress and the challenges ahead more tangible. This was also the main challenge from a designers point of view: How can we make the extensive datasets and numbers more appealing and understandable for the constituents? As data accuracy and readability were major concerns, a combination of clear tables, color coding and well established diagramshapes were used to communicate the complex information.
